Most churches put off changing their website because nobody wants to retype ten years of pages, photos and events. So we do it. Our team rebuilds your existing site on ChapelDesk, imports your member list and moves your domain across — while your current site stays online until you say the new one is ready.
Send us your current web address and we'll tell you exactly what moves across before you pay anything.
Everything in ChapelDesk is point-and-click, and plenty of churches move their own content over a couple of evenings at no cost — pages, photos and events are all copy, paste and upload. Pay for migration when nobody on your team has those evenings, when the site has years of material in it, or when the person who originally built it is no longer around to ask. If you're not sure which describes you, email us your current address and we'll say so honestly.
Whatever your current site is built on — WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, Weebly, or something a volunteer wrote by hand years ago.
Home, about, history, service times, ministries, leadership, contact — rebuilt page by page in the theme you pick, with your wording kept as it is unless you ask us to change it.
Your existing galleries become ChapelDesk albums, organised by feast, event or year, with captions carried over where your current site has them.
Upcoming events entered into the ChapelDesk calendar, public or members-only, with reminder emails to the congregation switched on if you want them.
Announcements and newsletter or blog archives moved into ChapelDesk posts, and PDFs such as service books and orders of service into your public document library.
A spreadsheet, an old directory export or a parish register typed up by hand — we map it into families, check the columns and import it, birthdays and anniversaries included.
Logo, colours, hero photographs and menu structure set up in one of the three ChapelDesk themes, so the new site is recognisably your parish and not a template.
We walk your registrar through the DNS change and connect your existing address — www.yourchurch.org stays your address. The certificate is issued automatically.
We help you connect your church's own Stripe account and set up the giving page and printable QR codes, so the money goes straight to the parish.
A screen-share walkthrough for whoever will keep the site updated, plus 30 days of priority email support after you go live.
Most parishes are live within one to two weeks. The pace is usually set by how quickly your committee can review, not by us.
Email [email protected] with your website address. We look through it and write back with what moves across cleanly, what needs a decision from you, and anything that cannot come with us.
You open a ChapelDesk account and pick a theme. The migration fee is charged once, at this point, and work starts the same week.
Pages, photographs, events, posts, documents and your member list go in, on your own private ChapelDesk address. Your existing website is untouched and stays online throughout.
Share the link with your priest, committee or whoever needs to sign off. We work through your corrections until you're happy with it.
On a date you choose, we make the DNS change with you and your address points at the new site. SSL is issued automatically. Then we hand it over and show your team how to run it.
One-time, for one church.
Charged once when the work starts. It is separate from — and in addition to — your ChapelDesk subscription, and there is no contract or ongoing service fee attached to it.
Stated up front so there are no surprises. Any of these can be quoted separately.
No. We build on a separate ChapelDesk address that only you can see. Your existing site keeps serving visitors right up to the moment you approve the new one, and the switch itself is a DNS change made on a date you choose.
Not really. There is no automatic import from any of them — the content is copied across and rebuilt properly in ChapelDesk, which is a large part of what you are paying for. It also means a site nobody has the login for any more is still movable: if we can see it, we can rebuild it.
Yes, and it stays registered in the parish's name. We point it at ChapelDesk and the SSL certificate is issued automatically. Until then your site is live at yourchurch.chapeldesk.com, so nothing waits on the domain.
Your domain and your content come across, so the site people search for is still there. Individual page addresses may change, and we'll tell you which ones before go-live so you can update anything printed or posted elsewhere.
For most parish websites, yes — that is what the fee is set for. If yours carries hundreds of pages, a decade of archives or thousands of photographs, we'll say so after looking at it and quote the extra before any work begins. You will never get a bill you didn't agree to.
It is charged once, when the work starts, and never again. It is separate from your monthly or yearly ChapelDesk subscription. Reviewing your current site and telling you what is involved costs nothing.
Yes, and many churches do. Every part of ChapelDesk is point-and-click, the help centre walks through each step, and support answers questions on any plan at no extra cost. This service exists for parishes that would rather hand it over.
We'll look at what you have and write back with what a migration would involve for your parish — plainly, and before you pay anything.
